CHELSEA REVEALS FULL CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SQUAD FOR 2020/2021

With the closing of the transfer window in many major leagues in Europe and the Champions League group stage commencing later this month, the Chelsea squad for the first stage of this competition has been submitted to UEFA.

Each competing club has to submit a List A of their playing staff which comprises up to 25 players with a minimum of eight locally trained players, of whom four must have come through the club’s own ranks between the ages of 15 and 21.

Any shortfall in those eight reduces the overall number available, and UEFA have announced five substitutions will be permitted this season, increasing the number of players selected for a matchday squad to 23.

In addition there is List B, made up of players aged 21 or younger with two years’ training at the club. This list can be updated at any time up to midnight before a Champions League match.

In Chelsea’s List A submitted for the 2020/21 group stage, Andreas Christensen, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Ben Chilwell are locally trained players, with the first three classed as club-trained and Chilwell association-trained.

Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Billy Gilmour qualify to be submitted on List B.

LAMPARD REVEALS THE TWO PLAYERS HE WANTS TO SIGN BEFORE THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed his must sign list before the end of this transfer window and it somewhat makes sense.

He's still very much interested in bringing in Declan Rice over to Chelsea from Westhampton United in a deal that may include Reuben Loftus-cheek and Anthonio Rudiger. According to the Express.

Despite being the busiest club in the transfer window that see them secure the signing of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Kai Havertz, Ben Chilwell, Eduard Mendy, Thiago Silva, Malang Sarr and Mbuyamba also joining from Barcelona; Lampard still has an eye Nico Melamed who has a €8 million release clause in his contract.

The 19 years old Espanol academy graduate is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Real Madrid and there's too much competition on Chelsea's midfield, adding him won't make much sense even though it's going to improve the quality available for selection on the wings with Hudson ODOI rumoured to be subject to a £70milion bid from Bayern Munich.
